How to configure Focalscope Graphs in Dashboards


Graphs in the Focalscope Dashboard can be helpful in displaying data in the simplest way possible.


     Tutorial to copy and modify an existing FocalScope Graph Dashboard

  1. Select an existing Focalscope Graph Dashboard
  2. Click on the Gear dropdown icon.
  3. Select copy as new folder.
  4. An identical graph dashboard will be created on your list of shared dashboards.

  1. Select the created copy of the graph dashboard on the list.
  2. Click on the dropdown arrow at the upper right corner of the graph.
  3. Click edit and reconfigure the graph dashboard widget as per the parameters presented.

     Tutorial to create a New FocalScope Graph Dashboard


  1. Right click either a personal or shared folder and select [New Folder] 
  2. In the [Folder properties] window, specify a suitable [Name] for the folder and set the [Type] to[Dashboard]
    • Alternatively, set the folder [Type] to [Dashboard Form] to create a folder that directly displays widgets in the FocalScope main window (see example in Figure 2)
  3. Click [Ok] to create the new Dashboard folder

  1. Select the newly-created Dashboard folder
  2. In the right-hand plane, right-click and select [New] to add a new Dashboard

  1. At the top of the [Dashboard] window, click the randomly generated name [DashboardX] (where X is a number), fill in a suitable name, and click anywhere in the window to save
  2. Click the drop-down menu at the top, right of the window and select Add Widget to add to the Dashboard cluster

1.  Select Reports and click add it now at the right-hand side.

2.  Configure the Dashboard widget as per the parameters presented

3. Click [Save] on the configured Dashboard widget

4. Click the dropdown and select the type of chart or graph you wish to use.

  1. Once activated, Dashboards will display the Graph with relevant information as per configuration
  2. You can move Dashboards around to create a layout most suitable to your needs

  1. For better viewing of the graph you may adjust the layout of the widget
  2. Click the drop-down menu top, right of the window and select [Edit Layout]
  3. Select the template that is most suitable for displaying Graphs
  4. Close the Dashboard window and the last used layout will automatically be saved

Tutorial to create a permanent external link for FocalScope Graph Dashboard


  1. To get an external link for the graph, click on the the dropdown and click Get permalink.
  2. Select an expiration date for the link and click next.
  3. copy the link which you can use to access the graph on a browser.
