How to configure the FocalScope server self-referencing URL

For any add-on FocalScope modules (e.g., the Knowledge Base module) to function correctly and reliably, you need to have or set the self-referencing URL for your FocalScope instance. This is to ensure that all add-on modules refer to the correct network / internet location for your FocalScope instance. This article details how to set the self-referencing URL for your FocalScope instance.

Setting your FocalScope's self-referencing URL

1. In the [main menu], select [Screen > Administrator] 
2. Click the [Administration] tab
3. Navigate to the [Global Configuration] folder
4. In the right-hand pane, double-click the [Self-referencing name] entry
5. In the [Self-referencing name] window, in the [Value] field, specify the preferred URL for your FocalScope instance
6. The result in the [Example] field is the full self-referencing URL your FocalScope instance will use. Always use this URL when referencing your FocalScope instance for add-on modules
7. Click [Save] to save changes
