Quick Setup Guide

Install and configure FocalScope in 6 easy steps

1. Download and Install SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

• Download the SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (Database with Advanced Services) installation package for your system and install using the default installation options. Please note, enable the Full-Text Search feature when presented with the option to do so

2. Install .NET Framework 3.5

• Install .NET Framework 3.5 on the hosting server using the Server Manager

3. Install the Web Server (IIS) role

• Use the Server Manager to install the Web Server (IIS) role

• Tick the highlighted role services to install as per Figure 4. Please note, these role services are crucial to ensuring a fully-functional FocalScope installation

4. Download and Install FocalScope

• Download the FocalScope installer and install FocalScope using the default installation options

5. Optionally Download and Install Openfire Jabber server

• Download and Install Openfire as per these instructions

6. Run the Setup Wizard

• Run the Setup Wizard and follow its instructions to configure the new FocalScope instance

After Installation

• Log into your new FocalScope instance for the first time
