Generating the Live Chat code
FocalScope can automatically generate the Live Chat HTML code and URL for direct insertion into your web page. To generate this code, do the following:
- In the [Main menu], select [Screen > Administration]
- Click the [Administration] tab
- Navigate to the [Instant messaging > Live Chat] folder
- In the right hand pane are the various Live Chat settings. Under the [Live Chat link] section, do the following:
- In the [Chat with] field, select which Live Chat group will receive chat requests generated from this chat link
- Disable / enable user registration by ticking / unticking the [Skip registration] flag. Please note: Allowing users to skip the registration process means that no information will be gathered from them, and they will appear as anonymous to your Live Chat team
- Select the [Link type] that you prefer to use for your site. Please note: To allow Live Chat users on your website to resume chat sessions whenever they refresh the active page, you must use the [inline chat popup] option. Upon reloading the page, the chat window will be minimized, but will still maintain the Live Chat session with the Live Chat agent
- If you choose the [inline chat popup] . Click the [Configure] button and specify
- The [Title]
- The [Width] (of the chat console)
- The [Height] (of the chat console)
- Click [Apply] ....
- If you choose the [inline chat popup] . Click the [Configure] button and specify
- In the [Chat link] box will be the Live Chat HTML code and URL, click the [Copy] button to copy the code to the system clipboard

Embedding the Live Chat code into your website
You can now embed the FocalScope Live Chat code into the HTML source code of your website. You will also need an image to represent the Live Chat button. (If you are using the Inline Chat Console, no image is necessary.)
