Get the best out of FocalScope with Google Chrome
FocalScope is fully compatible with the Google Chrome browser. For optimal performance and functionality, it is highly recommended that FocalScope be allowed to create popups, desktop notifications, and that the 'application shortcut' be used to access your FocalScope instance. This article details the process of configuring Google Chrome for optimal use with FocalScope.

Allowing desktop notifications for FocalScope
Desktop notifications allow you to see the status updates of your colleagues as well as alerts and new incoming emails, etc. It is highly recommended that you allow desktop notifications when prompted to allow or block them for FocalScope.
- While accessing FocalScope with Google Chrome, when you receive the prompt [Please click this text for desktop notifications], click on the text of the prompt

- Click [Allow] to see current and future desktop notifications from FocalScope
Creating a FocalScope 'application shortcut'
Google Chrome's application shortcuts is capable of producing a desktop application like look and feel for your FocalScope web interface. It is highly recommended that you create an application shortcut for your FocalScope instance as it clears away all browser-specific content, such as the search bar , URL field, browser buttons, etc., allowing you to work more comfortable and with less distractions.
- Log into your FocalScope instance using Google Chrome
- Click the Customize and control Google Chrome button (highlighted in red)
- Click [Tools > Create application shortcuts]
- In the [Create application shortcuts] window, tick only the [Desktop] flag and click [Create]
- Google Chrome will automatically switch to 'application mode.' In future, you can access your FocalScope instance by launching the desktop shortcut
Enabling popups for FocalScope
For Live Chats and Instant Messages in FocalScope to function at all for Google Chrome users, popups need to be allowed for your FocalScope instance URL.
- Click the Customize and control Google Chrome button (highlighted in red)
- Click [Settings]
- At the bottom of the settings page, click [Show advanced settings] (highlighted in blue)

- In the settings page, scroll down to the [Privacy] section and click [Content settings]
